Consumption with PIR of a planning material, with STO

Kindly refer to the the SAP note 772856 - Question# 5, Answer C -

Question:

Which settings are required to consume calls for stock transfers with planned independent requirements?

Answer:

a) For the consumption of a planned independent requirement with final assembly, the 'Mixed MRP' indicator must be set to '1' in the material master. The consumption indicator of the planned independent requirement must be set to '3' (see the 'Item' tab page in Transaction MD63). When you create a planned independent requirement, the system uses the default value from Customizing Transaction OMP6.

b) For the consumption of a planned independent requirement without final assembly, the 'Mixed MRP' indicator must be set to '3' in the material master. The consumption indicator of the planned independent requirement must be set to '3' (see the 'Item' tab page in Transaction MD63). When you create a planned independent requirement, the system uses the default value from Customizing Transaction OMP6.

c) A consumption with planned independent requirements of a planning material is not possible.

Despite the above note categorically ruling the option out, we have a situation that we need to find options to consume the PIR of Planning material, with the Sales orders as wells as STOs received for the actual transaction materials.

• Activation of the BAdI MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS and the Consumption indicator(4) settings in OPM6 or PIR have been tried, but not successful yet.

Has anyone found some other options or suggestions to get the PIR consumption for a Planning material, by STO (& Sales Orders) created for the actual transaction materials?
