Create a Portal Component

Hi Experts

I have a new installed NWDS 7.3 and a new fresh workspace. Here I create a Portal Application Project and after that a Portal Application Object (Abstract Portal Component). Here the creaton of the portalapp.xml fails: The component could not be added to portalapp.xml

I guess something is missconfigured in my NWDS but what?

Steps in Detail:

- File - New - Other - Development Infrastrucuture - Development Component - Enterprise Portal - Portal Application Standalone.

- Selection of the Software Component (like LocalDevelopment - MyComponents) and then I give a name to the NewDevelopmentComponent

- File - New - Other - Portal Application - Create a new Portal Application Object

- here I select the Component (Project) I crated before and then Portal Component - AbstractPortalComponent

Name: MyName

Location: Core

ClassName: MyClass

PackageName: MyPackage

=> the component could not be added to partalapp.xml

Thanks for your support

Best regards

Christophe

Thanks for the link. The solution was finally anther one. The HowTo guide I was following was using NWDI but I was working in NWDS and I guess that's what made the difference.

Once I stopped trying to make a Developement Component like the HowTo Guide does but just made a Portal Application Object and then followed the guide everything went fine. Stupid mistake but maybe it helps someone who is also not reading a HowTo guide carefully enough :-)
