SAP jobs : How can we job a periodically scheduled job at a future time ?

Hi.

I have checked this but i have not be able to stop a job which is running periodically at a future time.

Suppose say, a jobA is running at a interval of say 1 hr.

And if i want to stop jobA at at a future time say beyond midnight today, and i do not want to run this job thereafter.

How can i do this, without a manual intervention.

I can stop the job - by selecting the job at any particular time in SM37 and change the status to scheduled. So that it does not run thereafter.

But how to automate this on the system itself.

Can anyone advise.

Or this has to be done thro a BDC only

Thanks

indu

Hi Indumathy,

Hope i understand your query clearly,

There is no option avail in SAP default from this. You may contact your ABAP and try to implement a new tool to stop the job automatically.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have queries

Hi Indumathy,

If you want to schedule the job periodically there is a option in the SM36 while you create the job, so that it will automatically schedule the job for that hour or days or month even minutes too. But if you want to stop that job you need a manual intervention.

Even sometimes it is happen if we need to stop the job for month end activity and again we need to reschedule it but it need manual intervention.

But we have lot of option that if can do, that we need to stop the job if it crosses some specific time like that.

Hope you understand and let me know if you need any other details regarding the above.

Thanks.

As i have mentioned already. We get requests to stop periodic running jobs, after a certain time, beyond mid-night or after a particular time of the next day in the early mornings.  And that always needs manual intervention.

Not a problem. I will get a BDC done for this.

Not sure what you are trying to say by these lines and what tool you are referring to / and how :

But we have lot of option that if can do, that we need to stop the job if it crosses some specific time like that.

Hi Indumathy,

For your requirement, It is not applicable without manual intervention, instead of you can take a help from abap and write a report and you schedule the report in particular time and once it start it will automatically stop the relevant jobs.....

But we have lot of option that if can do, that we need to stop the job if it crosses some specific time like that.

The above one is a option which is present in background job but it not applicable for your case.

Let me know if you have any queries. Hope you understand.
