Prompts do not pull up dynamic data values from DB...

I am absolutely new to Crystal Reports. I am trying to build a very simple report which would display a list of our customers. I am trying to build a prompt that would allow me to choose a specific customer (I Know this example I am trying to build is pretty lame, however, I am trying to learn prompts in Crystal). In the Paramaeter field of Field Explorer, when I create a new parameter, in the "Value Field", I only see "(None)", no other values are being displayed from the DB. What am I doing wrong? We are using SAP Crystal Reports 2011, Developer edition. TIA

What is the Datasource, SAP or NOn-SAP?.

Also in Crystal reports -- Select the parameter -- open the porperites window -- select database field - Add then into the list. Now you will see the list of values available for the parameter.

    Hope this helps.

Well, the problem was that I was trying to use the "Parameter fields" available in Crystal Reports as opposed to using filters in my Universe data provider. This is what was throwing me off. Fixed the issue and it works fine now. Thanks for all of the replies to my post!
