We are frequently facing this issue after evry 20 minutes "Cannot find the service name - or you do not have the rights to view this service"

In BO Dashboards whenever we open the Dashboards or the BI Workspace, all the dashboards load correctly and work fine for 20 minutes. Exactly after 20 minutes we get the error "Cannot find the service name - or you do not have the rights to view this service" .

We are using web service connections(QAAWS) in our Dashboards and our source is Bex Query. Our Xcelsius is 2011 version and BI platform 4.0 SP2 Patch 12.

We are always facing this issue after 20 minutes and after that if we log off and relogin again, the Dashboards works fine for another  20 minutes and again errors out.I am logging in as administrator who has complete rights.

This issue happens with all the end users very frequently.

Kindly suggest us the solution/steps to increase the time from 20 minutes to higher value/ to get rid of this issue.

Also strangely these days we found that at times  the same error occurs within first 60 seconds of opening the Workspace/Dashboards.

Kindly help me in resolving this issue at the earliest.

Hi Pramod,

You need to change the Time out setting in dsws.properties file for the app server you have.

Kindly refer to the SAP Note-1244342 - BusinessObjects Enterprise Web Services request times out after 20 minutes.

Make sure you restart the app server after the changes.

Let me knwo if you still get the error message.

Hi Namitha,

I have made the below changes

1. Increased the session timeout from 20 minutes to 60 minutes in the

file /BOBJ-BI/sap_bobj/tomcat/webapps/BOE/WEB-INF/web.xml

2. Increased the Dashboard Design Server cache from 20 to 60

minutes in CMC.

3. Increased the webi procesing server,idle connection timeout from 20

to 60 minutes in CMC.

4.In the dsws.properties file, entered a new line:

session.timeout=2400 and restarted the web apps.

After all these steps, after restarting the servers, I have tested the

same in many different systems, but the same error occurs after 20

minutes.

Kindly suggest us the suitable solution for this issue. This issue is

of top priority for us as Top Management are the end users.

Hi Pramod,

The issue has been identified as a Product defect under the reference ADAPT01565289

 

Resolution

Apply 4.1 to your system.

1611189 - Error: "Cannot find service name=<QaaWS_name> or you do not have the rights to view this service" when refreshing Xcelsius based on QaaWS

Let me know if you were able to resolved the issue after upgrading the Patch.
