Question about material # leading zeros

Hi Gurus,

Is there any way to prevent the leading zeros to the numeric material #s? Bcoz the client I am working @ wants to have the materials with leading zeros of their own.

Thanks for your help,

To use or not use leading zero's is a configuration in material master transaction OMSL.

You can prevent dislaying leading zeros by clearing parameter 'Leading zeros'.
You can prevent the padding with leading zeros when storing in internal format by setting parameter 'Lexicograpical'. Is set then you can distinguish between material 123, 0123, 00123, ...

You can use use exits to control the material number. In SPRO go to Logistics - General -> Material Master -> Enhancements and select the one that will meet your requirements.
