Failed to get connections for connection using session locale [English]

Hello I'm posting this because i havent been able to solve the problem, the context is, I'm trying to add a new connection for analysis services 2008 and then  this happens:

Enter User Name & Password to log on to the data source:

"Failed to get connections for connection using session locale [English]"

This is in the BusinessObjects Intelligence platform 4.0 SP04 FP03.

Operative Sytem: Windows Server 2008 R2, 64 bits
Database: SQL Server 2008 R2

Symptom

"Failed to get connections for connection using session locale
[English] is raised when creating an OLAP connection in CMC to be used
in Advanced Analysis

Steps for Reconstruction - Reproducing the Issue

In the CMC create a new Microsoft Analysis Services OLAP connection
without specifying a cube and Authentication equal to Prompt
Enter User Name & Password to log on to the data source -> "Failed to
get connections for connection using session locale [English]" is
raised.

Note. The issue happens with one specific environment, other BW
environments patched at the same level do not raise this error. The
Adaptive Processing Server log file shows the error.

Hi Roberto Bernal,

Don't use SQL Authenticated user credentials.

In Server Information:

Enter IP/Server Name in SERVER field.

Use the Windows server system credentials to login Server.

Hello Pardhu,

I checked your solution but before applying it I'd like to ask you a few more questions. For example I saw that for that solution You mentioned IIS must be implemented however the environment I'm using a production server in which only has SQL SERVER 2008 R2 and IIS up but I cant do tests or anywhing because its a productive server.

Which options do you give me !? Or comments !?!? I need to know if this is the only way to achieve the connection.

Hi Roberto Bernal,

I used the following setup,

1) BO Server system and OS: Windows Server 2008 R2, 64 bits
Database: SQL Server 2008 R2

2) Normal Client system(Normal  windows 7 OS system)

Installed Database: SQL Server 2008 R2 and IIS.

I have Configured it in a Client system and used for OLAP connection.

If you want to test/Practice it you can use a system with SQL server and IIS in one system.

IIS is available in any Windows OS.

IT will not effect your server system settings.

You can downloadAdventureWorks sample datadbase

This the only way to connect SQL SERVER Analysis Services.

Good morning all,

I read this thread and I have the same problem. In case of Windows Authentication on IIS side, I receive the message "Failed to get connection ..". We have a BOBJ 4.0 SP4 installation. SQL server is SSAS2008. Both system runs on a Windows 2008 R2 operating system.

Anyone solved this issue?
