PO release startegy

Hi, I have a problem,

I try to create a release startegy for a PO:

• I create a new PO document type
• I create a new characteristicwith value the document type
• I create a new Class in wich I put the characteristic
• I create a new release startegy

in customizing it seems OK I have no error, but when I try to create the new PO SAP gave me an error ME 298

Can you help me?

Hi Barbara,

                As per your Message Please ME298 says that

"Purchasing document & not subject to release strategy"

Please again check the Release strategy,

specially while defining the release strategy in the "Classification", have you maintained the Value correctly or not.

and also the release class correctly maintained.

the most important reason for your release strategy not getting triggered in the PO is that the PO values are not satisfying the conditions for the release strategy Values.

Hope you have used the Field "BSART" from the structure "CEKKO".

Hi,

thanks for the answer.

I put in the characteristic in additional data CEKKO and BSART.

I put in value ZBPS (Order Type)

I do not have errors from "classification", I try to run also chek release strategi and there is not in error.

I really do not understand, may I check other?

Your defintion of Class and Characteristics seems OK from what you say.

Check CL24N to make sure your Class is assigned to the specific release strategy.

AND navigate to the Charateristics to make sure ZBPS is there too.

If not, do a search on ME298 and you'll see many similar queries.

MOst likely the solution lies on the classification.

Hi Barbara,

                Many a times the issue in the release strategy, if we are making the changes in the release strategy, again and again, it does not trigger.

can you please rather then to find the fault in the current release, better to delete the whole and go for the new one with diffenernt nomenclature through out with the same class and Classifications.

but for deletion please follow the rule that what activity you did last, delete that one first like the Classification to be cleared first and then in the opposite order of Release strategy Creation.
