Hi
When i create a crystal report base on an universe and come across an error message: logon failed;
on database expert, i connect to BOE with Administrator crenditial then go through the available universe; after selected one universe, i drag necessary object into result object pane; when i click the OK button, pop up the error message "logon failed" .
crystal report version : 2008 SP5
BOE version : XI3.1 SP5
your quickly reponse would be highly appreciated.
thanks in advance!
Dragon
Hi Dragon,
The DB connection is now going through your local PC so you need to install the DB Client and configure it to use the same type of connection as when it was published to BOE.
Once Open then you can set Location to the DB Server and it should all work now.
Thank you
Don

Hi Dragon,
I totally agree with Don.
Well your Crystal Reports is trying to search the same Database Configuration that you have done for Universe. If your Universe is based in Oracle database and its using Oracle Client connection, then on your machine where we have Crystal Reports Designer we should have the Oracle Client installed along with same TNS entry configured, as it is configured on the Enterprise Server.
So I would suggest you open your Universe in Universe Designer and check the database configuration using File -> Parameter and do the exact database configuration on your local machine where Crystal Reports is installed and from where you are trying to create Crystal Report based of Universe.

Hope this would help .
