Hiding Compounding Characteristics value in bex Query

Former Member

Hi,

I've an Info object A. And 'B' is the compounding attribute of A.

So in Bex, it is displaying B/A.

But I want to display only A which is the main info object. I don't want to display the componding info object.

Thanks

Hi,

Drag 'B' into rows, just above the 'A' and set its display properties as 'No display' .

Hi,

In addition to Avinash's answer you can also hide it using a global query restriction if you are sure there is only one single master data value for the result table. Useful for finance queries to hide the 0FISCVARNT = "K4" or "V1" where the entire DataSet is compounded to a single value.

It is best not to use this global query restriction method when your query is on a MultiProvider that is merging DataSets where you can not guarantee all records have the same single master data value in all the base cubes.

Kind regards,

John.

Hi Reddy,

Have you loaded the text table.

If you make any setting in the BEx tab of that IO then that changes will be reflected at the output like in the analyzer or in wad.

and Still if displays the B/A it implies, you have not loaded the text data.

Hi,

May be this is bit childish but try this once, select Infoobject----Business exploere tab: In my case the Infoobjects----general settings----Display=2 key and for the compounding attributes(i have 2  comp. attr.) value are 0key and text(same for both).

Try this, I want to know why it is not working at your end when it is working fine with me.

Anand.

Hi,

We were facing the same problem in the past. It seemed, that there is no way to define the display of the key without compounded characteristics in the definition of the BEx Query. But it was possible to change the display in the WebTemplate, that we used. If you are also using a WebTemplate have a look at the following resource:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2/helpdata/en/43/d8c6dcc0700235e10000000a11466f/content.htm

There are different options in the section 'MEMBER_PRESENTATION_LIST' to adjust the presentation of a characteristic. You can set this command in the properties of the WebTemplate e.g. as action to be done before the first display.

If you are using the BEx Analyzer, it might be possible, that there are similar functions.

Regards!

Hi,

Have you tried restricting the values of B and change the properties of B - hide in display.
