How to do a backend read?

Hi all,

I have a question regarding backend read. I read in some posts that a backend search can only return header information and that, in order to get detail information of my object, I must do a backend read. This is exaclty what I need but I have a quite trivial question: Technically, what is a backend read?

I get generated code from SUP for my ESDMA. Can someone give me some code example (ideally IOS but any device code would do) doing a backend read with SUP generated code? link to blogs or documents would be great too. I haven't found any!

Thank you very much for your help!

Regards,

Renaud

If it is CRM Sales mobile app, backend read means Function Module in backend. It is defined as getdetail method of backend adapter in NetWeaver Mobile.

If it is custom app, I think most offline apps are developed with SUP MBO.

    • Hi,

Thanks for your answer. I am talking about a custom app using SUP MBO. How can I do a backend read? My issue is that I have a backend search that only return header information and I would like to do something called a backend read to get the details. Someone can post me some code?
