PM Gauge Control - Checkout and Checkin Capability

Does anyone know if their is something in the PM Module that will allow you to checkout and checkin devices.  We would like to be able to track who has checkout a device and checked it back in.  We have had something come up missing and did not know who last used it. I didn't know if the PRT function in PM would be able to be used for this.  Thanks!!

How about a user-status on the equipment master?

PRT's are meant for this but strictly from tracking perspective, it will be difficult to do within SAP PM. Even if you assigned any PRT to an order, the system doesn't stop you assigning it to another order at the same time. There is kind of glitch over there.

If you have some strict requirement and you don't want more custom development, you can utilize the notification functionality, but again, it won't set any lock on the PRT. It will only help you from tracking perspective.
