Hi,

we scheduled an webi report in excel format and provided all information in destination. we mentioned specific name for attachment as

If I select "use automatically generate name" then report delivery in excel format is good.

But if i select "use specific name" as above then out as below

Its not delivering in excel format, Not sure why its happens like that.

Thanks

Thanks

If you generate a specific name you should add "." and the placeholder "file extension". Then your wrong windows symbol should be replaced by an excel symbol showing that the right format is delivered.

It is the very last entry in the placeholder dropdown:

If complete with, so with "." before, it looks like:

%SI_NAME% - %SI_STARTTIME%. %EXT%

Then your  attachment should have a symbol indicating that the document is in Excel format and not a windows symbol.

Hi Michael,

Thanks a lot...

I have another question for you..

Now we are planning to schedule an reports.

1. we have X report in A folder, where all users have an access to this report . we have 50 users

2. Now users want to schedule report with there own prompts selection(prompt selection differs to each users)

3. If user schedule an X report from A folder then  each and every user are able to see all instance in history because they have access to report. Which we do not want to make it. We want to make sure that user should not see other user instances.. could you let me know how to do it?

My proposal to team:

1. Let us ask users to copy X report in there personal folders and ask them to schedule it according to there wish and we as admins will make sure that user can maintain only 5 instances for report.

2. but problem what we have in that is, if 50 users copy X report into their personal folders then extra 50 reports are taking space.. how to avoid it?

please could you help me out to come over this issue??

Thanks in advance

Create an access level "View only own instances" based on predefined Access Level "View" set the right "View Instances" from status "Granted" to "Not specified". Apply that access level to folder where you don't want the users to see instances from other users. Make shure that the right "View instances that the user owns" remains in "Granted" status.

By  that every users can only see his own instances.
