ALV Grid- copy part of cell content

Hi experts,

                  I have a question regarding ALV Grid.In alv grid, when i select a cell,it selects the whole cell.Whereas in ALV List, user can select portion of a cell content for copying purpose. Is this function possible in ALV Grid? If yes, how to implement this function in ALV Grid?

I dont think you can do that in a Grid.

You can only copy whole cell content in a grid. Using Ctrl + Y selects a cell.

You can go to Change Layout->View->Preferred View and make it as Microsoft Excel and then select a sections from a cell.

Hi Sowmya,

            Copy the standard program BCALV_DEMO_TOOLTIP to a ‘Z’ program and make the following modifications:

   data: ls_layout type lvc_s_layo,
         lt_fcat type lvc_t_fcat,
         ls_fcat type lvc_s_fcat.

       ls_layout-excp_fname = 'LIGHTS'.
       ls_layout-ctab_fname =  'TABCOL'.

* Begin of Modification.

      ls_layout-SEL_MODE = 'D'.

* End of Modification.

     Then you will be able to select the particular cell as requested.If this answers your question correctly please mark answered.

Hi Sowmya!

                      To copy the selected fields in ALV please use Ctrl + Y after making your selection on the field then it will Select only the vlaue U have selected.

Thanks for your suggestion.. But, even if I press Ctrl+Y it selects a cell completely and not part of it.
