Logon Screen Customization NW 7.3

Hi,

We have recently upgraded our portal from NW7.0 to NW 7.3. I am working on the Logon Screen Customization. I have been following few wonderful blogs like http://scn.sap.com/community/netweaver-portal/blog/2011/06/26/getting-started-with-netweaver-73-portal-part-2--nwds-and-logon-page.

I have customized the code according to my requirements. I am having issues with Deploying the code.

I am working on NWDS from local system and I want to Deploy code on the server(which is not my own system). I couldnt follow the above blog at the Deployment steps(8,9,10).

One more major issue is that, I have change the Code a lot, so if I want to Revert back my changes How do I do it ?

Thanks for your help 😊

    Hi Pranay,

To deploy your code on using the NWDS 7.3 do the following:

    1. In NWDS 7.3 add the "deploy view"
    2. go to Window >> preferences >> SAP AS Java >> Add your system. (remember instance hostname = domain - http://domain and instance number is by port for example 50000 = 00 50200 = 02).
    3. Export your component and choose EAR file.
    4. In the deploy view click "Workspace Deployable Archives, on the right side choose "Update deployed archives with any version" in the first radio group "Update strategy".
    5. click the plus and add the EAR that you want.
    6. click the deploy button (small computer icon).

for reverting, I would suggest just keep always a copy outside and then paste it back into NWDS and deploy it again.

Or another option before deploying download the current file from the server itself.

    Best Regards,

    Saar
