Dataload failure

Hi all,

We have a data load that is huge and it fails everytime. The extraction is a full upload everyday to an ODS from R/3. Any ideas on how can I break the load....

Can I do something like creating a process chain with multiple infopackages having different selection criteria's and pulling data on a sequential basis

or

may be changing the data packet size.........

please let me know

Sabrina.

Hallo

Your option are both valid but it could you have problem with roll area and rollback segment. What is the error message? Can you see anything in SM21 or st22. By the way, if you perform resource issue in this case you can think to have mor einfopackge with different seelction. Also you can try reducing the package sizze but make sure you have enough memory and roll area.

Hello Mike,

1. What exactly you mean by Memory and Roll Area?

2. How to find the information about Memory and Roll area?

Sabrina,

in other words, you can split your dataload in several packets, it's better if you can use a delta upload...BUT, it's always better to further investigate about the reason of your problem: BW is enabled to load huge data...so, let's try to better understand if it's possible to avoid this error and only after that we can suggest to you different and alternative solution...

hi,

what are the messages of failure? Maybe you can still use one package after error removal...

Sabrina,

Is it one time upload of huge data or every day you have huge data upload?

how huge is it?

Hi Sabrina,

If delta enabling is feasible then that is the best option.

ELSE.

Having multiple infopackages with different selection criteria is a good option. But then you would need to delete all the data in your ODS everytime you reload.

Dinesh,

Could you explain the need to delete the ODS data with each reload?

Thanks

Unless we are talkin about only full loads here, then it makes sense.
