Strategy 10 & Movement Type 601

Hi Experts,

In case of strategy 10, As per SAP Library help document, PIRs should get reduced by sales order delivery.

What are the SAP standard settings in OMJJ for sales order deilvery movement types like 601 ?

In standard system like Ides & also in clients I found that in OMJJ for 601 reqts reduction indicator is off / not active. Then how can PIR will get reduced by sales order delivery movement 601 ?

I can change this setting in OMJJ but I want to know the SAP standard settings & the behaviour as mentioned in SAP Liabrary. In other work if SAP Library says like that then why for 601 the settinmg for reqts red indicator is not active in OMJJ by default ? OR if I am misunderstanding somewhere ?

Regards,

MHP

    Hi MHP,

In std system , for OMJJ for 601 reqts reduction indicator is off / not active. The reduction is carried based on strategy configuration 10...

Pls check below config details : Production>Demand management >PIR>Planing strategy>Define strategy

See the details fo strategy 10, In std used requirement class : 30.

Now check the config for requirement class:

SPRO >SD> basic function>Availabilty check and transfer of requirement>transfer of requirement>Define requirement class.

Check details for requirement class: 30

Here it has mark Independent requirement reduction and it control for 601 movement type...

    Regards,

      Hi Manish,

      Interesting question indeed 😊

      Just a guess...

      • The Strategy 10 is assigned with Customer RequirementsType KSL
      • The Requirement Type KSL is assigned with Reqt Class 030 (OVZH)
      • The Requirement Class 030 has the Ind.Req.Reduction indicator 'Set' (OVZG)
      • --> Probably, this is the setting that influences the consumption!
        • May be, you can try copying this 030 into another Req class like Z30, and assign to a new strategy group, say Z0, and test... and share the feedback...?

    Hello Manish,

Good question. Hope below answer clarifies your doubt.

Agree with you, as you wrote

I know the above config in SD & PP both. But then what is the need of indicator in OMJJ, if the requirement class config in SD & PP & the strategy config only can control this ?

This setting is provided to reduce the PIRs for the materials you are planning through PIR and which you are consuming to the orders and not selling it. Example i want to maintain strategy 10 for my subassembly and wants to create PIR for the material. And i will issue this material to assembly, but i can not sell it. Then on what basis my PIR should get reduced? I can use the setting in OMJJ, and it helps me to reduce my PIRs for the material.

In other work if SAP Library says like that then why for 601 the settinmg for reqts red indicator is not active in OMJJ by default ?

As you stated when this is achieved by the setting of requirement class and type then this default indicator is not required for this movement type until unless you specifically need this.

I suggest you to go through below links, which are really helpful to understand the scenario related to this.
