Hi Joe,

Only Part 1 - Part 1 is not updated when you select this option in MIGO. You can check this in your test system. Post MIGO by selecting this option and you will not find part 1 register serial number for that entry. This option is rarely used by the firms.

Normally, this is used for posting MIGO when you receive the material with excise invoice duplicate transporter copy and material is very urgent for production in the plant. In this situation, MIGO is posted as material is very urgent for production but excise part 1 entry is not posted as the excise invoice is a duplicate transporter copy. In this scenario, you can also use 'No Excise' entry tab in MIGO and later after receiving the original excise invoice, you can post the Part 1 and Part 2 in J1IEX.

Only capture EI - Part 1 entry is posted when you select this option in MIGO. This option commonly used in every goods receipt when you receive the original excise invoice with the material. Part 2 entry will not be posted by this option. Later you have to post part 2 entry for the vendor excise invoice in J1IEX.

Hi,

Excise invoice contains two parts ie.....Part1  and Part 2 where Part1 and Part 2 character wise differentiate  by  quantity basis and values basis respectively.

Capturing Excise invoice means you are updating excise register Part1 on quantity basis where inward movement of goods like purchasing of raw material if any and Posting the excise is updated on value basis where  RG23A Part2 rgister is updated.

Hi Bijay,

Just wanted to know one thing that we have a case of STO with excise

Where we are following the STO process with J1IS [MM route]

Remember both the Plants and the material itself is excisible

Now my question is when on the receiving end you do the MIGO

which option is to be selected

Capture & Post EI

Only Capture EI & then do J1IEX

just let me know the regular practice

Joe

hi Joe ,

It simply depends on confidence excise / account department has on store keepers. MIGO is a transaction run my store keepers. J1IEX is run by excise department

If company believes that store users are responsible enough to make entries to excise registers  then we use Capture & Post EI.

If company believes that there is possiblity of error if excise posting is given to store keeper , then they just allow capturing excise invoice. At later stage excise/ accounts department check for correctness and posts it via J1IEX.

if it is only part 1 there won't be any entry in J_1iexcdtl table. you need to capture and post the excise document in J1iex. if it is captured during MIGO you will see an iternal number in migo with status 'in process'. In j1iex you can post this document.

Hi,

Only capture EI -this option available in J1IEX using this option Part 1 Entry is Captured and posted against Goods receipt document (101 Movement)

Part 1 Posting also possible directly in MIGO by selecting Excise table

Only Part1-In case user want to do return delivery against original Goods receipt document, while doing return delivery in Excise Tab of MIGO transaction option "Only Part 1"  is available, due this reversal of Part 1 entry happened.
