Scheduling a CR report with BW Hierarchy node variable in a publication, the list is flattened

Hello,

System: BOBJ 3.1 SP5

BW: BI 7.3 SPS 7

Crystal reports: 2008 (12.5.0.1190)

We are attempting to schedule a few CR reports together in a publication. These CR Reports are based on Bex Queries with a Hierarchy Node Variable and the reports are set to SSO in the database configuration.

When scheduling the reports individually, the parameter pick list for the hierarchy node variable appears as it should be, with expandable and collapsible levels.

However when scheduling a publication with the same CR report, the pick list of the hierarchy is flattened.

We have tried hard coding the database logon and password and this also does not bring the hierarchical pick list.

Is there a configuration or step we may have missed?

Cheers,

Nick

    Hi Nick,

When scheduling or viewing reports (against an SAP datasource) on the BusinessObjects Enterprise, the default prompt screen is Not used. Instead the SAP style prompting page is used and this is what enables the hierarchies to be rendered properly.

Unfortunately, the same functionality is not available when Scheduling the reports.

This looks like a missing functionality, however a 'Bug' request has already been submitted to Product Group. Here's the ID for your reference: ADAPT01503977.

It was scheduled to be fixed in SP5, however the request is still 'Open', meaning it has not been fixed in SP5. And, I see that you're already on SP5.

We do not have a workaround at this point in time. We'll have to wait until a fix is available.

    Hope this helps!
