Problem with strategy 59 - Phantom Assembly

Hi gurus,

I've come up with a problem when I was trying to set up strategy 59 for the first time.

In the phantom assembly master data, I have set the following parameters:

  • Special Procurement Type: 50
  • Strategy Group: 59
  • Consumption mode:2
  • Backward consumption: 30 days
  • Forward consumption: 30 days
  • Mixed MRP indicator: 1
  • Individual/col. indicator: 2

At components level I have set the backflushing field as 1.

Then I created 3 PIRs for the assembly and run the MRP. At this level eveything worked out great. VP type planned orders were created for every PIR that I have created. The stock was not taken into account. And a line with the text: "Preplanning w/o Assembly" showed up at the Stock/Requirements List (MD04).

But when I analyse the MRP result for the components of the assembly I can see that something is wrong. The same line "Preplanning w/o Assembly" shows up in the Stock/Requirements list and the stock is not taken into account but it should. And the planned orders that were generated at this level cannot be converted into purchase requisitions.

What am I doing wrong? This matter has been baffling me for the last 2 days.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards.

    Hi Nuno,

Did you enter any planning strategy (say 59) for the components (under the phantom items) as well?

    • If yes, please remove the strategy group entry for the components, and leave it blank.
    • Just let the MRP type as PD components, with relevant lot sizing keys and individual/collective indicator (say 2)

** Let the phantom items alone have the Planning strategy group entry(59) along with the consumption mode and period entries.

Please check if this works and share the feedback.

    Regards,

    Senthil
