Issue with InfoPackage Selection

Hello Experts,

We have an issue in our Production environment.

Client have requested us to load nearly 32,000 batch ID's related to payroll to a cube.

But all the batch ID's are different and we cannot give range.

Is there any fast way through which we can load them .

Because manually entering the selections to the IPAK is taking time.

Thanks

    Hi,

You can load it through FF in DSO or object and then look up those values in the Infopacakge from that DSO in the routine..

    Thanks and regards

    Kiran

if you have no other field that you can use for selection, there are not much options left.

how does the client get the batch id's? is it a selection from a db table? sap? xls?

please give as much info as you have.

    Hi,

    What Kiran Said looks good.

1.) First load the Id's given by the client from the Flatfile into a DSO with the required fields.

2.) Write a routine to do a Lookup into the previously loaded DSO in the Infopackage while loading data into the cube.

    Regards

    Badri.

    Hi Neetha,

As said by above posts, its better to do that only.

1.Load the data from ff(given id's by user) to DSO.

2.While loading from ss to IC,

In the start routine, compare the id's in s_p and dso, if not matched delete s_p.

Create one itab and wa with ID's and required fields.

    select ID ...

from /bic/adso00 for all entries in source_package

    into table itab

    where ID = source_package-ID.

    loop at source_package assigning <source_fields>

read table itab into wa with key id=<source_fields>-id.

    If sy-subrc<>0.

    delete source_package.

    end if.

    endloop.

    Regards,

    Babu.

    Hello everyone,

    Thanks for your reply.

We created a Z table and entred the batch ID's to that. then in Ipak routine we called that table and loaded the data.

    Regards

    Neetha

    Hi,

I hope you are using BI 7.0 version or above.

Load the data till PSA with some selection in infopackage (example 0FISCALYEAR = 2011; 2012) so that it fetches all the records. Then in DTP filter, you can restrict it with the Batch numbers. You save all the numbers in the flat file and then in batches copy the numbers (upto 3000 in one go) in DTP filters. You can directly copy using the COPY FROM CLIPBOARD.
