"How to Easy Execution of Planning Objects" - Follow up questions on the blog

Hello -

I have gone through the very useful blog that details out the steps required to make plan functions appear the MS Excel ribbon for users. I have some follow up questions on this blog which I wanted to post here to see if any of the experts can help me out.

How to Blog -

Follow Up Questions -

1) How do I build workbooks with more than 9 plan sequences/functions (the module is ignoring all functions starting from AOCust_P10)?

2) How can I make a particular plan sequence appear under multiple cross tabs (work sheets), instead of just one crosstab?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Regards,

Sudheer B.

Hello Sudheer,

1) there is a step where the XML for the customUI is inserted into the workbook. When you open this XML file in an editor you see a repeating pattern for buttons. The HowTo sample assumes 9 functions at the same time, by copying the pattern and renaming the IDs you can increase the max number of supported buttons.

2) find the place in the source code, where the visibility is determined - the method starts with something AO_getvisibility. Following the code you find the place the overlap check is performed. Here you might step in and enhance the source code by e.g. providing several sheet seperated by colons - and in the source code split and validate it.
