PSA Requests of Direct Update DSO not deleting

Former Member

Hi All,

We are Planning to delete some request in PSA and Changelog deletion through Process chain ( Delete PSA deletion & Delete CHANGELOG Deletion in the processing type) .For Normal DSO we are not facing any issuing it is getting deleted perfectly but coming to Direct Update DSO the PSA data request is not getting deleted.

We also find the type of these PSA's are PSA__DM-ODS.For all other psa types, requests are getting deleted via Process Chain without any issues.

Could anyone please help us resolve this issue.

Thanks

Bhavya

Hi Malyadri,

Thanks a lot for the response.

I checked the links but I dont see anywhere mentioning how can the PSA requests of direct update DSO updating to further data targets deleted via process CHain.

Please suggest any other solution if any.

Thanks,

Hi,

DataStore objects for direct update cannot be filled with BI data using staging (data is not supplied from the DataSources),they are not displayed in the scheduler or in the monitor.

It dosenot support for ETL process.

Can you please explain how did you find the PSA requests for direct update DSO ?

Hi,

We are trying to update further from this direct Update DSO.

Hence we can see the PSA requests in the datasource based on this direct update DSO.

Hi,

Are you using APD process or not ?

Hi,

No we are not using APD process here.

We are just loading to the Direct Update DSO initially and loading from this to further data targets.

As part of Performance activity we have added the datasource built on this Direct Update DSO , for deletion of PSA requests periodically.

But the PSA requests of these are not getting deleted via Process Chain, We can delete PSA requests of these in rsa1old manually also, but we are looking for some automatic solution like via Process Chain or any other if any.

Thanks & Regards,

This program may help.

RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY.

Check whether this program deletes PSA for a direct update DSO.

Hi Malyadri,

I checked the below link but could not find any solution.

http://scn.sap.com/thread/2101027

Hi Harish,

Thanks for the response.

I tried executing the program RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY but it says "No valid entries found" when i give the Direct Update DSO name.

Could you please let me know the selection conditions to be given while executing this Program.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Bhavya,

Check PSA instead of Technical ODS name and give the PSA name as input and let us know what you're getting.

Hi Harish,

I checked PSA and gave the PSA table name ( /BIC/B000XXXXXX) but it says No technical name found for the PSA name.

Hi Kiran,

Thanks for the response as below:

s..u r ryt..ddso fetches data frm source directly..not frm psa....

My point of view is :

When futher updating to data targets we have created a datasource based on this direct update DSO and we are using infopackage to load PSA and datatarget in series.Hence in this way PSA requests get accumulate which has to be deleted periodically for performance issues of the system.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

Search with the Datasource name ex: 2LIS_02_HDR in the deletion of request from PSA process type of respective Process chain.

If even it is not avalible, just Provide the details as below

Datasource           Src Source     Older than (No. of Days/Date)

2LIS_02_HDR       ECC Name      As your requirement.

with this u can delete the PSA data.

Hi Bhavya,

You are creating a datasource based on this direct update DSO. How could you do that?

Can you please explain your flow clearly?

Hi Naresh/Harish,

This is a data mart (8ZODSXXX) . From this we are updating to further data targets.

no need of data source....possible wth dtp....ryt???

Hi Kiran,

I guess since ETL process cannot be followed for a direct update DSO we cannot use DTP neither to load nor to update further. Hence a datasource is created to update further.

hi bhavya u r ryt....but data source creation is mandatory to load data to one target.from that target we can load data without dsource..using dtp only..any way let us see how many replies will come..

Hi Bhavya,

Thanks for your continuous responses.

I'd like to know, in which way the performance is hindering, if you are keeping data in the PSA from the datamart.

Besides, if it's hiccuping you, I would suggest you to raise an OSS call with SAP. Perhaps, they would come up with a solution for your issue.

Hi Harish,

There is a memory issue in Production System because of large amount of these PSA requests.

Thanks for your response and suggestion. Will consider them.

Thanks & Regards,

Bhavya
