Japanese characters garbled in Query

Hi Experts,

I have a data which contains numbers with Japanese characters .

Eg: -2-ナカミナミBY

But when I run the same Query in English language it is displayed as 2-#####BY. It seems only Japanese character is garbled.

When I checked the data in Infocube and RSRT the data is displayed correctly 2-ナカミナミBY

Before we never had this type of issue in the past but now we see that Japanese characters are garbled.

Can any one please advice what could be the problem.

Thanks

    Hi,

Please note that Bex Analyzer setting depends on the Windows setting for language support.

To make sure the characters are shown properly, the below settings has to be present in the

    USER PC:

    1) Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Do you
have 'Japanese' in both of your 'Regional options' AND 'Advanced' tab?

    2) If above is set, and you still can not see the Japanese characters in
the Analyzer, please try to add environment variable SAP_CODEPAGE to
    8000 according to note 823631.

    3) UNICODE system: Front End requires the relevant codepage (e.g JA =
8000) on client (windows) JA as language has to be selected. "default"
can NOT be used in SAPGUI.

After all these settings, now logon Analyzer using JA as language.

    Please try above and retest.

    Regards

    Arvind
