What version of KERNEL you are using to upgrade ? Looks like issue with saplikey in kernel, Please try with latest kernel of 720 and let us know.

Please check the SAP note

Note 1684165 - DB6: Add. Info. - Software Update Manager 1.0 SP04

You need to have DB2 9.7 FP3 for non-DPF system to use SUM tool.

You will have to go for SAP EHPI tool .

Even though this issue is not directly related , but the expection from SAP is not to use SUM for your release DB2 LUW V9.1

Hallo,

have you tried to manually run saplikey from the command line (as <sid>adm) and if so, do you get the same error?

Maybe it's worth checking for the latest kernel patch and update saplikey in /usr/sap/scd/SUM/abap/exenew/ and /usr/sap/scd/SUM/abap/exe/.

Regards,

Thomas.
