Hello Gurus,
My Client is Textile manufacturing. They produce yarn in their first plant than from that yarn they produce fabric in their second plant and from that fabric they produce clothes in their third plant. All three plants are very close to each other 200meters apart. Will it be a good idea to create three separate plants or to create single plant.
Secondly their fabric production is process manufacturing, while other 2 are discrete. How will I configure the system if I go with 3 plants and one being process manufacturing?

Hi Shanker,
First you need to understand the business process like 100% EOU or domestic supplier.
usually process is 1st plant is MTS, 2nd plant is(MTS & MTO) and 3rd plant is MTO.
there is know accurate dependency on first two process, since it is SFG and out put is sell-able or using other plant input.
so, you can design process manufacturing execution individual.
Hope it clears...

Hello Shankar,
Due to lot of complex process involved at various stages at individual plant, you should go to with 3 different plants.
Briefing about the process
1st cotton to yarn producing is having different processing more over doesn't feasible to de-assemble.
2nd yarn to producing having different processing and we can't feasible to de-assemble.
3rd fabric to garments having different process involve at various level like cutting, production, washing & packing(may be out sourcing and sampling also involved based on the situations). after cutting and stitching adjustments some times big size to small size feasible to de-assemble, not feasible small size to other big sizes.
so considering, all these complex issus can't be handle under one plant.
Hope it clear..
Best Regards
