Variance calculation

Hello experts,

For production order , variance has been calculated and settled , now the order balance is zero. Status of the Order is TECO . Now when i run KKS2 the order is till picking in the run and still showing the variance.

Is this standard behavior of the system.

Thank you.

Dara

    Hi,

Variance calculation is just a report and you can execute it several times in a Month and also If you settle the order still system will show you the variance in variance calculation but will not settle the variance again because its already settled.

      Hi

Variance calculation (KKS1 and KKS2) is the tool for calculating the variance, even if you settle the variance, the system will not settle the Production order - ie system will display the order is already settled.

For further doubts- Pls go to this Transaction code : S_ALR_87013127 ( This will help you to understand) which are all the production order has been settled.

    Hi,

the order is still processed in variance calculation until the "deletion flag" is set. See SAPNET note 397110 for details and why ist no porblem to set this flag.

    Hi,

KKS2- is the transaction code used for Calculating variance, even if the Production Technically completed, system will calculate the variance, and but it will not allow to settle the variances of the Production Order.

    Yes, its a standard behavior.

can you shown the variance you mean? is it in material or variance in actual & standard cost?

      Hi

The Variance might be two - Quantity variance and other one is Price variance..

When planned quantity maintained in BOM is different from actual quantity confirmed during the production order confirmation process, so the quantity variance will be calculated.

Price Variance - When Planned price is different from actula price maintained, the price variance will be calculated.
