Excluding folders for the crawler to crawl

Hi All,

I want to exclude some folders to be indexed. I used the Resource Filter in the crawler to exclude it from crawling. Its a web repository pointing to a site on the internet.

i have given the following the value for Access Path patterns

/repository manager root/site_name/folder_name/**

But its still crawling the folder.

Is there anything missing in this or am i giving wrong parameter values
