Dear Experts,
In the component overview of production order (CO02), i find that storage location for some of the components is blank whereas for some of the components, it is populated by default. I have maintained all components in the same storage location.
I want to know, what makes the storage location field get filled up automatically. Is it some field in material master or somthing else. Why is the field blank for some materials?
Also, in case of material being stored at multiple storage locations, how does the system decide which storage location is used for picking?
Looking forward to your support.
Regards,
Chetan.
Hello Chetan,
Yes it's field-Storage loc. for EP from MRP-2 view of material master of components.
Maintain the same & it will auto populate in prod order.

I think there are two ways :
1. Assign Storage Location in MRP2 Tab View. (TCode : MM02)
2. Assign Storage Location in BOM item (TCode : CS02 )
Thanks.

Hi
In MRP 2 view and in BOM under item details >status/long txt you can maintain the issue storage location. if you are working with PV then in pv details also you can maintain, issue storage location.
I dont remember the priority sequence. I think it is PV, BOM,MM.Please correct me if i am wrong.
Check at your end.
