Replacement Path Variable with Query error

Hi all,

i am right now facing a new problem with replacement path variables by query (working with BI AddOn 7.X (Based od 7.30)).

I have created a prequery with the result (characteristic values for customer) shown in the rows. When executing this report everything works well and the characteristics are shown.

In the 2nd query I have created a new replacement path variable with the prequery defined before.

When checking the 2nd query in the Bex Designer I always get the error that the replacement path variable can not be filled from the Multiprovider the 2nd query is build on.

This is strange as the prequery is built on the same MultiProvider. The 2nd Query can not be executed or generated in rsrt - always the same error.

Are there any settings necessary in the query to enable it as a prequery or any system settings?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards Sandra

    Hi Sandra

Please provide us with the error code that the system produce.

This is the first time that you build a replacement path with query? I assume that you restrict a characteristic that exist in the output of the parent query (prequery).

Give us more details on what is the characteristic that you want to filter, if you have any compound on it.

Both queries are using the same multi but provide results from different infoproviders, if this is true then check the assignments on the infoobject that you filter.

    Thank you

      Hi all,

found the reason for this error. The MultiProvider the query was defined on contained a planning cube. Now that the planning cube is removed everything works well.

The connection between the replacement path variable and the planning cube is not clear to me...

      Regards Sandra
