Dear SCN,  I have created analytic view using HANA, Am unable to see the column views created for the same under "_SYS_BIC" schema in IDT but the same is visible in HANA Studio. Can you please help me understand how can i consume these views? And if they are any limitations?

Please try and set up the Hana view as a cube. I found this was a necessity when I was trying to include some views into the Universe that I was building.

Let me know if it helped.

Hi

Are you still facing this issue?

Try to create a new connection.

In my case I had existing universe and in HANA one new calc view created and I had to bring the newly created view into IDT. But unfortunately I could not see the newly created calc view under _sys_bic. (but it is available under _sys_bic in Hana). So I have created new local connection in IDT under the same universe and changed the connection to the newly created local connection. That's it. newly created HANA view available in IDT.

Thank you!!!

When selecting the table from _SYS_BIC schema there will be two tables which will be there with same name (one with olap suffix and other without olap suffix - screenshot attached here for the same).

Can you please select the one without olap from IDT and see if you are able to see the calculated attribute?

Please note that the table names will not appear in same order so you will need to scroll through the whole list or use the search option.

Let me know if this solves the issue

Hi Krishna,

I have faced a similar issue with the SCHEMAs. I was accessing different HANA systems from different HANA Studio Rev clients (25 and 28). I could not see the schemas created in Studio 28 in the Studio 25.

Do you have similar context here?

Hi Krishna,

I have noticed that the Column views are not shown in the IDT in same order as of HANA Studio. So you can scroll down a bit and you can see the proper view hiding down below.

Hello All,

Thanks for your replies.

I have created a analytic view named "AN_TEST1" in hana studio. Am able to see the column view under _SYS_BIC schema in the studio as shown below:

And after creating a JDBC connection using IDT, this is what i see under _SYS_BIC schema using IDT as shown below:

Please help me what to choose from here to continue to buld my univers. i can see all the other tables except "_SYS_BIC"."package/AN_TEST1"

Regarding Version am using : IDT Version: 14.0.2.v20120322-0657 i guess this is FP3. am i right?

Hoping my question is clear now. Please help me in this.

Hi Krishna

I created the HANA connection in Universe Designer and further while creating the data foundation I could see my analytical views in _SYS_BIC schema.May be you can check the authorizations granted on _SYS_BIC schema.some times the objects under _sys_bic schema may be compressed into sub folders, can you try with applying filterhs for analytical views, there is an option to filter analytical views while creating data foundation .We can check whether you are not able to view all analytical , calculation views or whether only this particular view. Awaiting your feedback

Thanks

Helo Krishna,

The objects in _SYS_BIC is not arranged in actual alphabetic order when you see via IDT.

If you have search/filter option in IDT (from FP3 we have this), make use of that to get your required object.

If not, you have to browse through till the end of _SYS_BIC to find your view.

Hello Krishna,

the sequance is not coumn views are not same in the IDT. If you wil see all the views in the IDT under _sys_BIC then you are able to see the "package/AN_TEST1". Mainly it is available at the starting or the end.

Hope it is helpful..

Krishna,

Were you able to resolve this issue? I am seeing the same behavior when trying to create a Universe using IDT. I am on BOBJ 4.0 FP 03 SP02 and using SAP HANAOne instance (AWS).

Thanks,

Hi,

You should be able to see the coloumn views under _SYS_BIC. If not, could it be the authorisation on the user (if not SYSTEM) that you are using to connect the IDT to HANA? If it is the SYSTEM user that you are using it comes with read access on _SYS_BIC.

Thanks,

Hello Krishna,

You will definitely have column views generated if analytic view's activation was successful.

If you have Created 'AN_VIEW_1' under the package 'pkg1', you will have the column view

"_SYS_BIC"."pkg1/AN_VIEW_1"

If you want to find the actual column view name for the view that you have activated,

Do a data preview in SAP HANA Studio -> Click on 'i' button near the refresh button and you can see the whole SQL select query generated upon the column view object and you can derive the name of the view out of the same.

Thanks and Regards,
