I am looking for the direct link to download Service Pack 5 for BOE XI 3.1

1st off this is the worst (expletive) site I have ever used. It puts the thought into my head that I sohuld jsut give up and quit even though BOE admin only takes a few hours of my week.

But trying to find the link for a service pack download is impossible. I ended up with a dozen windows open taking me father away from my query "Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 service pack 5"

You know what search on "windows xp service pack 3" gets you?

A link that connects you to a direct link to the service pack

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-xp-service-pack-3.aspx

Sorry for the rant but I have an anxiety attack everytime I have to type scn.sap.com because 9 out of 10 I'm going to be pounding my head on a table.

I appreciate the help and I got a little closer. I have those 3 items in a download basket. I tried downloading the basket and tried clicking the individual links. When I try to downlaod the basket it says I need a download manager, I tried to get that and I am just staring at a spinning circle that says it is processing my request. When downloading via clicking the link of the file name I get an error saying this website declined to show this webpage. Most likely causes: this web site requires you to login in. Since starting this set of steps I have 6 more IE windows open and have been asked for my login credentials at least 3 times, yet the must not be sticking if I get an error saying i need to log in.

Which, I am apparently logged in, since I am able to write this message.

Dear Philip,

My suggestion is to always use SAP download manager to download any software its very easy. You might face bit of hassles initially which configuring but it has lot of advantages. Once you configure you SAP download manager, it will show all the items in dowanload basket and you can download it very easily.

Please follow the steap given below to download SAP download manager and configure the same.

Click Get Download Manager

Scroll down and click SAP Download Software Center to download the software. And later refer to the same page for checking the configuration steps for SAP download manager.

This is what I get everytime I try to download the DL manager for Windows. In between clicking the link and the error window I get prompted again for my security certificate. FYI, I am using IE8. And I have tried with Chrome also. I give up. I am going to try to get my EPIC representative to downlaod it and put it on our network.

There may be some issues with your account to download files, or something unrelated.

First, you should contact your S-user if you know him (there's a main contact for any SAP account).

You could also contact CIC by phone so they assist you in understanding what the problem is or help you find your S-user (or they can raise the issue to the teams in charge of Software Download for you)

http://service.sap.com/contactsap

Below (from the link above) are the CIC phone numbers

Otherwise, there's a feedback link in the top right of your download section.

Hope this helps.

I don't know where this answer is coming from. It may be of good will, but this is unfit here:

1- The SP5 archive is not a 12MB archive but a set of 3 files which weight around 3GB just for the server side (then come client tools, Live Office, Widgets, etc...).

2- The software should only be acquired from SMP. This ensures that the software is valid and virus free.

3- That would violate your maintenance agreement. Please see my previous post for correct guidelines on getting access to the software.

Regards

EDIT: noticed you offered to send Download Manager rather than SP5. But (2) still applies, and anyway, if the customer has download restrictions, he should still contact CIC as even if he received the Download tool, the problem to download SP5 would remain.

Sincerely

SAP software should only be downloaded from SMP as Romain pointed out

Hi Phillip,

I understand your frustration with the portal. One detail you don't mention is where did you search. I imagine that was a well known search engine. Many links are not indexed because require a valid user to be logged in the portal.

You need to log in https://service.sap.com with your S-User and go to the download area and search for the product or select from the list.

You don't mention the platform and SP5 is available for multiple platforms.

Julian
