while promoting job i got status failure

Hi All,

     while i am promoting the job from one server to another server i got status failure.then i click on failure i got the following error.

Hi,

Did you managed to resolve the issue with the failing job. I'm facing the same issue when I want to execute a jobs that needs to promote objects which are stored in the FRS location of a linux BI 4.0 SP4 installation to a windows based BI 4.0 SP5 installation. When I created a promotion job that only promotes a user everything works fine. When I add objects like reports (Webi) the job fails.

Hi,

Go to that location and check whether the file is there at that location that it is complaining about in the error message.

It could be that the file that it is referring to is not present at the location and does not exit. So, create a file with the name it is complaining in the error message.

Thanks for your reply. I haven't checked yet if the actual files exists at the location that LCM is referencing to it the log files. What I do know however is that the reports can all be viewed correctly on the source system via the BI Launch pad. Can it have something to do with the fact that these systems are in a different domain? Or that there may be repository inconsistencies?

Hi Martjin,

I had faced a similar kind of issue while promoting objects from a BI 4.0 SP2 environment to SP4 environment. In my case, it was some missing files problem and the same got resolved after creating the file manually.

In your case, it may be related to the server's being in two different domains and i would assume that you are promoting Live to Live rather than Live to Biar.

You may also try the Biar to live option and save the Biar file locally on the server from where you are trying to source/import it.

Looks like an Input FRS related issue?  Can you look to the path below and see what files exist in the folder?  Does it have a file extension or no?  Based on the error, it has a space where the extension would normally be so its hard to tell if the extension is missing from the file or if its just missing from the logs.  A good test might be to find the same report in CMC and see if you can view it correctly.  Be sure to view the report and not one of its instances.

If you can't tell which report it is, use query builder and issue the following query:

select si_id, si_name from ci_infoobjects where si_id = 8499

The name of the report should get returned.  Using that, search the CMC/BI Launchpad for the report name and try to view.
