Eurozone Exit - SAP support

Hi,

I am working on a Euro Exit strategy to prepare for scenarios if one or more countries that we have businesses running SAP decide to exit the Eurozone.

I have spoken to the SAP UK Technical Quality Manager and she provided me with the following information:

"SAP does not support at this time any leaving scenarios from the EURO since these are not at this time concluded. It is understood however that it is a technically possible implementation of a selective local currency changeover.

SLO (System Landscape Optimisation) provides services (projects) to selectively convert company codes (only Greece cc) to a new currency (at a fixed exchange rate)."

She suggested that I raise a customer message to ask more specific questions, which I did and I asked the following:

  1. Is there existing functionality in SAP ECC 6.0 that will allow rapid LC conversion?
  2. Is it true that SAP consulting need to be engaged to do the LC conversion?
  3. Does SAP have any strategy to support the large demand that would follow any current EU country announcing a Eurozone exit?

It then it occurred to me that this forum might be a better place to seek answers to questions. Is anyone out there able to assist? Is it only me that sees this as a major risk area? Any thoughts and feedback welcome.

Cheers
