Forecast Report FF7B - Incorrect Planning Dates for SD orders / Delieveires


I notice some inconsistency in FF7B Liquidity forecast report. For Customers (Payer), we have defined the invoicing dates as End of Month by assigning an appropriate factory calendar. (KNVV-PERFK) Also lets us say we have assigned a payment term that states 7 days due net from Document date.

Now when the Actual Billing is generated for all the deliveries effected through the month, say from 01 Nov to 30 Nov, the Billing date for all these deliveries becomes 30th Nov and the Net Due date (in FBL5N) is shown correctly as 07th Dec.

So, it looks all seems to work fine on the FI side.

Now when we run FF7B and drill down to check forecast details for Sales orders, (Level S1: Sales Orders), the report shows the planning date as Delivery date + 7 days. This is incorrect as the planning date should be end of month + 7 days for all deliveries.

I could not locate any OSS note for this issue applicable to EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0. Any idea how this can be corrected on the Cash Management and Liquidity Forecast side.

    Hello Swami,

    you can try to check the value date.

    Usually, a FI document is entered with a value date, which will then be the planning date in Cash Management. In case there is no value date

    in the document, the document's posting date is used as planning date.

    For drilling down to the documents from FF7A the system selects the relevant documents using the VALUE (!) date as selection criteria.

    in FF7A when displaying the overview we select the data from table FDSB based on the planning date. The planning date itself is not

    known in the line item display (here we know the value date and the posting date). During drill down the VALUE (!) date is used to select

    the line items (because usually the value date = planning date).

    the value date is not used on case of customer/vendor data (there is no value date in the FI document).

    The value date is only used for bank and bank clearing accounts, because the value date becomes the planning date in table FDSB. If the value date is not filled in case of postings to a bank or bank clearing account, than the posting date is used as planning date. And only for G/L accounts there might be a problem when drilling down to the line items, especially when a customer posts some document with value date and some without value date.

    Hello Biao,

    Thanks for your feedback. I checked the FBL5N report and notice all line items have a blank "Value Date'. However I presume this is the normal feature as we don't populate in the case of Customer/Vendor documents. Currently I notice the FF7B output is as per data in table FDS2. The problem now is the forecast report has incorrect planning date. Any more thoughts......
