I got the solution.
Actually there is no facility for importing .XDP template in NWDS SP9.
Whenever you create interactive form element .XDP file is created dynamically. You can see the filename in interactive form field properties.
You can very well locate this .XDP file in your workspace.
To import your .XDP file just replace the dynamically created file with your file. Note that your .XDP filename should be same as the one which is generated dynamically.
Reload your workspace.
This may not be the standard way..but it works.
