    Hi ,

You can goto transaction /n/iwfnd/serv_validate to check for errors in the service.

which gives more info on the error and the possible solution.

The possible problem which i can think of is as both you gateway and backend are on the same server but different clients . there may be a mismatch in the GSDO group assignment.

You can try (not the best way, best would be to clarify the different client issue with a oss message) to look for the GSDO group where your service is possibly in LOCAL group or _00XX group where it is currently assigned delete it from there and create a new zxx GSDO group and assign the service there using from spro->SAP NetWeaver->Gateway->Former Development->Generic Channel->Administration->General Settings->Manage GSDO Groups

      Thanks Gururaj.

You are correct but finally I fixed the problem upgrading the vesion of all the components of the application. After this, I could see the transaction maintainance_service and there, i could activate the service correctly. Thanks very much.
