SUP2.1.2 development using direct SAP Backend

Hi,   Is it possible to develop the MBOs by directly connecting to SAP backend from SUP2.1 workspace & calling the BAPIs as it used to happen in previous versions of SUP. Please suggest.   Regards, Shrikant.

we can call the RFC/BAPI from workspace 2.1.2.
