Columns not found in designer tables

Hello Experts,

On the BI 4.0, I don't know for some reason we are using the Designer Tool rather than IDT.

We are asked to work with the Synonym Tables instead of Tables or Views.

Now my issue is, whenever I'm pulling the tables into the Universe Designer, I don't see any columns.

Its just the blank table. We are Oracle and when I go back into the Database via Toad, I can see the columns there.

We are using External Strategy instead of Build in strategy.

Is something wrong with the Synonym tables or do am I overlooking some option?

Please advice.
