We use LIMS system to manage the Analytical testing for most of the products. Certficate of Analysis is generated from the LIMS system for these products. We do have certain products where we do not use LIMS. Results are recorded and maintained in SAP. How to generate COA in SAP for such products.

Sounds like all standard functionality.  You don't mention how you are maintaining results in SAP.  Are they recorded to inspection lots? Too bach records?  Both?

In simplistic terms you create COA profile, assign the material it the profile, set up your outputs for the deliveries and ideally you get a COA printed out when you pick the delivery or when you PGI the delivery.

Without knowig a bit more about your data setup its hard to give you specifics.  Results can be reported either from the batch or the inspection lots.

If do google search on this topic I know you will find a lot of documents out there on COA's in SAP.

Results are recorded agianst the inspection lot. COA will be required to be printed before approving the lot.

You can't generate a COA before recording the UD.  (ok, technically that's not an absolute)

And why would you? That doesn't really make sense if you think about the business process.

You approve a material against a spec.  Not a COA.  Especially since I might have several different customers and each of their COA's could look very different with different specs and different information provided on the COA.
