Operation Splitting and Confirmation

Former Member

Hello,

I have this scenario where the Workcenter  has No. of Individual capacity > 1 and capacity type is Labor.

and in the Operation the splitting has been used to reduce the operation time. (WC formula is SAP003).

now using these settings, in the confirmation it also proposes half of the hour (Labor hours) to be confirmed.

e.g.operation time is 100 hrs then using the split 2, in confirmation it proposes only 50 hours.

Did I miss something? how to correct it so that eventhough the operation split has been used in confirmation it proposes the total hours planned in operation?

Best regards,

Maulin

Hello,

Sorry for late update.. (very late update)

The issue has been resolved.

The work center formula was wrong. Changed it and it resolved the issue.

Thanks everyone for your valuable inputs.

Hi Maulin,

When the operation needs to 100 hours of operation (per capacity), and we have 2 capacities, and also use splitting, system internally assumes that both these capacities are engaged for this operation (for 50 hours each, totaling the 100hours required) and hence the confirmation screen shows up 50 hours.

If you practically do not split this operation for the order, you can go to the operation overview --> double click on the operation --> go to the splitting tab page --> Untick 'Required splitting' / Enter Max no. of splits = 1 / Actual no.of splits =1; a combination of these entries will ensure that the operation is not split between the capacities and 100 hours of operation will show up during confirmation.

If you want to deactivate this splitting regularly, please go the routing --> double click on the operation --> go to the 'splitting' window --> Untick 'Required splitting' / enter No of splits = 1.

Please check if this addresses your requirement and share the feedback.

Hello Senthil,

First of all Thank you very much for your answer....

But I need to use the Splitting function.

now here is the list of steps I follow.

1) WC has 4 indi. capa. and 16 hours of operating time.

2) in config. of Cap. Cat. i have set the indicator (Actual values not updated when confirming ind.capacity)

3) in Prod. order \ routing set the indicator required splitting.

4) in prod. order's operation detail section, STD val is 100  HRS (activity type LABOR)

5) the Qantities \ Activity tab (after scheduling) shows 25 hr to be confirmed (100 / No. of Ind. cap.).

6) in Cap. Rqmt Assignment tab I have specified 4 SPLITs)

here I need some information that what is mandatory to maintain? is Person ID required? Can't I just specify the activity hours and not the quantity split? (as qty will be 1 always).

7) in Confirmation (time ticket \ operation), I confirm Individual Splits with 0 as YIELD and 25 Hrs of LABOR there is no capacity reduction. (3 times)

😎 then I Confirm the operation with 1 YIELD, 25 Hrs of LABOR and then it results in total capacity reduction.

9) I checked the COST analysis in production order (cost trend) and everything seems OK there as well.

My concern is, Am i following the correct steps? or missing something somewhere?

If there is a standard SAP suggested way to split the operation from Activity point of view (not the quantity perspective) and if yes then what are the steps and settings?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Sharat,

The document in the link explains the Prod. order split not the operation splitting functionality.

but any ways, Thanks for giving time by looking in to my question and for sharing the link.
