Hi All
The guys in our server dept are unable to perform an in place OS upgrade on our PRD ECC 6.0 EHP4 system. The OS upgrade is from Win 2003 to Win 2008 sp1. Their proposal is to build me a new win 2008 PRD server and then have me perform a system copy to the new server. The only change will be the OS, the DB on both systems will be Oracle 11.2.0.2, the server name will be the same. My question is should I consider this a Homogeneous or Heterogeneous system copy. I have the luxury of having a large drive attached to the current PRD server that I can backup up or export to depending on methodology. Any tips on this process would be appreciated as it will be a first for me.
Thank You
Troy

Hi ,
If your OS version is changing from Win 2003 to win 2008 , then you will be needing a migration key. So techinaclly it will be a heterogeneous system copy.
Details infromation can be found in installation guide.
