Query on APO Realignment

Hi All,

Please provide a solution for the below problem case -

Lets suppose, there's a CVC 'X' with one of its characteristic Location as 1150. Now business has started a new location 1159, in order to have history data 60% of data of location 1150 has to be copied to location 1159.

Problem is that rest 40% needs to remain at original location i.e. 1150 and in creation of realignment steps its mandatory to have different Source and Target.

Please suggest a possible solution for the problem.

B'Regards,

Pooja

Hi Pooja,

Is your requirement to move 60% of 1150's data into new location 1159 and keep the remaining 40% at 1150? If so, pl follow the procedure below.

1. Take a complete backup of your DP planning area by uploading its data into InfoCube.

2. Assuming you have not created any CVC with location 1159, maintain the following realignment entries (/sapapo/rlgcopy)

     Step 1: 60% data from 1150 (source) to 1159 (target) - Copy logic M

Step 2: 40% data from 1150 (source) to 9999 (dummy target) - Copy logic M

     Step 3: 100% data from 9999 to 1150  - Copy logic M

             a. Select the flag 'Delete Source' (only for Step 3)

3. Verify the realignment logs and data for any issue.

Thanks,
Rajesh

Thanx Rajesh! creating a dummy location i.e. 9999 would solve the purpose definitely.

Is there any other way or feature available, by which same thing could be achieved where in dummy location is not needed.

Pooja,

Probably, you can use a macro and realignment combination as follows.

1. Realignment: Copy 60% of existing data to new CVC (from 1150 to 1159)

2. Macro: Use a simple and temporary macro to reduce all the key figures of old CVC (1150) and save the results.

KFn = 0.4 * KFn

Thanks,

Rajesh
