Delta extraction from FI module in R/3

Former Member

Hello,

Could you please tell me how the delta records are updated in BI in the case of extraction from FI? I understand that RSA7 is not updated with the delta records as in the case of LO extraction. How can the delta records be validated on the BI side? BWFI_TIMEST and BWFI_AEDAT would only give the time stamps of change in documents. Can RSA3 be used to validate the records? Please help!!

Thank you.

Hi Nick,

Have you actually checked/confirmed this?  I just had a quick look in RSA7 and can see all the records for the FI extractors we use ie 0FI_GL_X,  0FI_AR_X,  0FI_AP_X....

Hi Peter,

Thank you for replying.

I read the help on SAP, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw33/helpdata/en/af/16533bbb15b762e10000000a114084/content.htm which mentions, "The delta dataset is transferred to the BW system directly, without records being transferred to the delta queue in the SAP R/3 system (extraktor delta method)."

So the data records are validated in the same as that of an LO extractor or are there any more hints to confirm the delta changes? Besides RSA7, what tables can i look for on R/3 side to know the changes made?

Hi Nick,

I think the help you referenced actually answers this a bit further down;

Recording Changed Line Items

In the case of Financial Accounting line items that have been changed since the last data request in the SAP R/3 system, there is no reliable time stamp that can document the time of the last change. For this reason, all line items that are changed in a way relevant for BW must be logged in the SAP R/3 system. Changed line items, together with the document key and the time of the last change are recorded in table BWFI_AEDAT.

Using the log table and the time stamp procedure described above, the extractors can find a delta dataset from changed Financial Accounting line items.
