Material Master Accounting View 1 Issue

Dear Experts,

I've this issue concerning material master record accounting view 1. The ECC 6 system I'm working on has activated split valuation.

For one particular requirement, I have deactivated split valuation in plant A specifically for the standard HAWA material type (0005 referencing trading goods under split valuation). Please note that there are other plants still having split valuation activated for 0005 trading goods. The requirement is simply having material master records with type HAWA created for plant A for trading purposes, as such do not require split valuation.

However, during material master creation, the system still prompts an error if I don't maintain the "valuation type" field within accounting view 1 (meaning if I leave this field as blank). So, I thought the material master field selection for "valuation type" might been set to "required". Hence, I checked in the material master field selection just to find out that the "valuation type" field under selection group 218 was already set as "optional".

So, if the field selection wasn't the problem, I would like to know where else with SPRO has caused the "valuation type" to remain as mandatory during material master creation?

Thanks in advance.

Please go to transaction OMWC and check all the settings.

Before posting in this forum, I did as you instructed. Yes, I do agree that by deactivating in OMWC for the affected plant, the system will not request for valuation category field in accounting 1 view during material master creation.

However, I'm still having this problem till today. Thanks.

    Hi all,

Thanks for the effort in providing me with suggestion. I've found the issue. It's caused by the behavior of a new customized field selection within field selection group 218. That field selection group has indicated valuation category as required and being assigned/used within "Define Plant-Specific Field Selection and Plant-Specific Screen Selection".
