Hello,

I would like your help on the following process :

- I need to produce a gived quantity of a finish product based on a calendar.

- I want a specific Work Center / Production line to be used for that production

Sample of this should be :

- I want system to generate a production order of 1000 units of product A on first monday of the month and

a production order of 500 units of product B on thursday every 2 weeks.

- the workcenter WC1 is used for production of product A ie : system will not affect a planned/production other than those of product A each first monday of week

- ie for WC2 and product B.

How could I achieve this ? Is there production calendars ?
Thanks for your help

Regards

Morgan

Hi Morgan,

1. You can use Planning Calendars to generate a planning elements on a specific day of month like first monday of month for product-A. Planning Calendars can be created using tcode-MD25.

Refer link below for more details:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/f4/7d25f744af11d182b40000e829fbfe/content.htm

Revert if you want more help on Planning Calendars.

2. About specific work center... I believe, you will be creating Routings for in-house manufactured products.. so you can mention there.

Hope this will help.

Thank for your help Anup.
Could you please explain how it works in details ?

I tried to create calendar, so I have periods I catually can define as I want :

from

11 to 17 july

18 to 24 july (same way every week) or :

07.08.2012 03.09.2012

04.09.2012 01.10.2012

02.10.2012 05.11.2012

06.11.2012 03.12.2012

Ie : every first thursday of the months, it's really a good thing !

Thanks a lot.

but how does it help me being sure that each first period starting day, an order for finish product wil be planned ? Ex : how am I sure that the 04 september and 02 october that correspond to the start of one period in calendar, system will propose to a production order of quantity 1000 for my finish product ?

Hi Morgan,

In addition to definition of Planning Calendar, you need assign the same in MRP2 view of material master. Also maintain Lot Size as PK (Period lot size acc to Planning Calendar).

Accordinlgy, system will calculate a requirement qty for a particular period/weeks and club together to a day mentioned in Planning Calendar.

Try & revert if any issue.

Hi Morgan,

For you requirement -

I think you need to do two things

- Go for backward scheduling. Put the end date when you exactly need A and B, say last day of first week say 7th July 2012, for B another date is say 15th July 2012.

System back calculates the start date, and suggest you when you have to start the production for A and B.

- Suppose your requirement is A and B both in same week, and your workcenter does not have that much capacity. You need to prioritze whether to produce A or B. Accordingly using the functionality of capacity management, can shift the loads to week ahead where there is less load.
