information for material from vendor or customer

Hi Gurus,

We are looking for a solution in SAP where we can send “Memos” to either our suppliers or customers. SAP should generate an automated number for the memo and there should also be an option to record the responses received from the suppliers or customers. The reason for the memo is to send or receive more information about any required product, so that in future also if we want to see what information we received from customer or send to vendor can be tracked from system.

i think this has nothing to do with SAP other than maybe vendor and customer master data. you may need to create custom number ranges, z tables , ftp connection to a peripheral server where you can push your mail from where the mail client pull the data .likewise for pulling, function modules for pushing and fetching . As far as i know this is pure development. discuss with your developer, they will be able to create all these.

planning to replace outlook express using SAP are we? I don't think it is a good idea nor i have seen such functionality. But using combination of workflow and development can do the trick. However you will need to do lot more process design and detailing before attempting it .
