While upgrading from 8.8.0 PU13 to 8.8.2 PU4 I get the following error in one company.
table=OITM, qurStr=UPG_UpdateOneTable() - error in GetFromTempTable() file:㩤摜灥瑯䉜单䉍䉟就⸸㈸剟䱅卜佂㡜㠮弲䕒屌灁汰捩瑡潩屮扏䵪牧停䝏湥挮 line#1855, errString=[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]String or binary data would be truncated.
The SAP answer appears to be:
The solution proposed by sap
Restoring the numbering file
will solve this issue.
In order to successfully
upgrade the databases, please follow the below steps:
- back up the database
before running the restore
- Open Business One ->
Help -> Support Desk-> Restore-> Restore Numbering File
- Run this utility
- back up the database
- Proceed with the upgrade,
which should be successful
The database was succesfully
upgraded.
Can this utility be run without opening Business One.
All but 1 company has been upgraded so i cannot open B1 until I get the last upgrade to complete.
I have 20 udf's in the OITM file and have attempted to find the problem with the data without success.
Hi Kathy,
Do you mean the functionality restore numbering file ?
You can't run it without opening the sap b1 application. It is located under help menu.
You can also ask global sap support if they have alternative solution beside restore numbering file.

I restored all databases so i could run the restore number file.
I now get hundreds of error lines noting "the item in table OINM is not in OITM". When researching OINM I find it no longer exists in 8.8. It is view only according to another thread. Any ideas on how to bypass or fix this error?
