We have been testing our deployment, specifically initial install of BO XI 3.1 SP3 full build using silent install .ini file. The majority of the time the install works correctly with no issues; occasionally however, the SIA will not be online after the install and the following error is seen in the event logs:
Server Intelligence Agent has failed to initialize. The port number is likely in use. Please confirm that your Server Intelligence Agent port number is not in use by another program. bind() failed: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind
I've done some searching of the forums and it seems that this can happen if there is a "phantom" SIA process running which is blocking port access. However, these are clean installs from a fresh OS install (Windows Server 2008 64 bit standard) so I don't see how there could be a phantom SIA running.
Any ideas on this one? Has anyone else seen this problem? It seems completely random; identical procedures are run each time and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't!
