      > from the DVD's that have been available for some time

      > on sap knowledge-shop (www.sap.com/shop) ?

Those download links provide the same TestDrive as the DVDs available in the SAP Shop or the DVDs we distributed on TechEds or CeBIT 2004 - it is just another channel for distribution.

      > but then how do I use this NW4_TestDrive.iso ?

You don't have to burn a DVD when downloaded those files. Just concatenate them as you did via:

      cat NW4_TestDrive.iso_Part_a* > NW4_TestDrive.iso

Then mount the resulting file loopback

      mount -o ro,loop NW4_TestDrive.iso /mnt/tmp

      and start the installation

      cd /mnt/tmp
      ./install.sh

    Hi Kathy,

I've successfully installed the SAP Web AS on Linux for DB2. People who got problems with the Windows version, this is the way to go. Easy installation, ABAP and Java stack running on my 2GB PC. Very cool.

I have a few problem though. Got this error message when connecting with user SAP* :

It looks like it is connected with the way I declared my hostname (rudy).

Btw, I want to work with BW. What should I do to turn my freshly installed NW04 Linux server into a BW server ? I seems one cannot work on client 000. How to copy the client, should I declare a new user to do that ?

    Thanks

    Hi

I managed to copy client 000 into client 200.

I then changed the login/system_client parameter to 200 and restarted the system but when I tried to launch BW (rsa1) it said :

SI4 client 200 had no logical name.

I've tried to create a a logical name with the bd54 transaction but SAP* is not allowed to do it 😔

Please help, I'm new to SAP. What are the mandatory post installation steps to get a working BW system ?

    Thanks
